This will be an email full of important information about tournaments so please take the time to read through the entire email.
First remember there is NO PRACTICE TONIGHT. We invite all of our families to come out and support the Conifer High School Lobos at their Tri match this evening at Platte Canyon High School, 57243 US Hwy 285, Bailey, CO 80421 starting at 6pm.
Great job to all of our wrestlers who participated in the weekends tournaments, each one of you wrestled hard!
This upcoming weekend 12/9 & 12/10 there are 2 tournaments options:
Saturday 12/9 is the national level 2023 USA Wrestling King & Queen of the Mountain in Colorado Springs. USA Wrestling continues its distinguished Tour of America Folkstyle series with the 2023 King & Queen of the Mountain, an exciting event that promises to bring together young wrestling talents from all corners of the country. Individual families must go to https://usawrestlingevents.com/event/2400014102/registration to register your wrestlers by 10am on 12/8.
Sunday 12/10 is the WSWL Grandview Wolves Classic at Grandview High School 20500 E Arapahoe Rd Aurora CO 80016. This is will be a great local tournament for all wrestlers. Please go to https://www.mountaingrapplers.com/store/p/tournament-registration to register. MGWC will submit all of our entries together as a club.
Future P2P tournament registrations must be completed by Tuesday at 8pm going forward!
Next up are a few changes we will be implementing starting the week of December 11th. After a very hectic tournament on Saturday 12/2 the Peak2Peak organization is making some changes which in turn means MGWC will need to make some changes in order to compete at these tournaments. Peak2Peak will be capping events for maximum registrations and will likely start hitting capacity prior to our MGWC Thursday deadline. Which means going forward registration for our Saturday tournaments will close each week at 8pm on Tuesdays.
We completely understand that sometimes families aren’t sure if they will wrestle at the weekends tournaments until closer to the end of the week so we would encourage you to consider competing at the WSWL Sunday Tournaments. The deadline to register for WSWL Sunday Tournaments will continue to be 8pm on Thursdays.
We understand this is a big change not only for our MGWC Team but also for the Peak2Peak organization. We will continue to adjust as the organization adjusts so please keep your eyes out for any updates.
